The Public Health program from Salisbury University at USMH prepares students to become certified Community Health Education Specialists (CHES). Graduates of the public health program become employed in a variety of settings, including government agencies, nonprofit organizations and healthcare. Graduates are also prepared to continue their education as graduate students of diverse disciplines, including public health, health education, business administration, public relations, occupational therapy, curriculum and instruction, psychology and social work. Health educators plan, implement and evaluate programs based on assessed needs of their target populations.
The public health program prepares students to work with individuals, groups and families in a variety of settings, including health behavior organizations and wellness centers. With our program as your core, you could become one of the following:
- Drug Counselor
- Health Communications Specialist
- Occupational Therapist
- Recreation Coach
- Volunteer Services Coordinator
- Youth Program Specialist
