USMH Welcomes Main Street Maryland Conference to Downtown Hagerstown

USMH is proud to serve as a Gold Level Sponsor and host site for the 2026 Main Street Maryland Conference, taking place October 5–7 in downtown Hagerstown.

Hosted by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Maryland Economic and Development Association (MEDA), the conference brings community and economic development leaders from across Maryland to Hagerstown to share ideas and strategies for strengthening downtown communities.

Why USMH?

USMH is located in the heart of downtown Hagerstown at University Plaza. As part of the downtown community, we work with local businesses, community organizations, and civic leaders to create opportunities for our students and the community.

During the conference, USMH will serve as a registration and breakout session site, bringing new visitors into our building and University Plaza. Registration and vendor setup will begin October 5, with conference activities continuing October 6 and 7.

Students, faculty, and staff will notice more activity in the building during the conference. We can’t wait for that! It’s an opportunity to welcome people from across Maryland and showcase USMH as a place where education and community come together.

Hosting events like this reflects USMH’s dual mission: providing accessible, affordable pathways to higher education while serving as an active partner in our community.
