Basic Needs Room
Student Food Pantry
The Student Food Pantry offers free grab-and-go food items for USMH students. If getting enough to eat feels like a challenge, you’re not alone—and help is available. The Food Pantry is here to support your well-being and help you stay focused on your studies. You can find the pantry in the Basic Needs Room inside the Student Success Center on the first floor of the main building.
Student Hygiene Pantry
The Student Hygiene Pantry offers free personal care essentials for USMH students, including hygiene products, laundry detergent, and other everyday items. If accessing these necessities feels like a challenge, you’re not alone—and help is here. The Hygiene Pantry is designed to support your well-being so you can stay focused on your studies. You can find the pantry in the Basic Needs Room inside the Student Success Center on the first floor of the main building.
Prayer and Meditation Room
The Prayer and Meditation Room provides a quiet space for USMH students to pause, reflect, pray, or meditate. Open to all beliefs and practices, this space supports your well-being and sense of balance. It is located in the Basic Needs Room inside the Student Success Center on the first floor of the main building.

The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission: Lunch (Soup Line), Evening meals, and food bags (by appointment) are available.
WCCAC Food Pantry: The Washington County Community Action Council is a leader in Washington County’s efforts to fight poverty by providing hope-inspiring help and real opportunities for self-sufficiency.
USMH welcomes the donation of non-perishable items from faculty, staff and community members. Donations can be made by dropping off items at our main building located at 32 W. Washington Street during our normal operating hours (Monday - Thursday 8 am - 9 pm and Friday 8 am - 5 pm) or ordering from our Amazon Wish List. Thank you for your support.
Library Services
Visit our Student Success Center on campus to browse the USM Online Library Catalog and request materials.
Students can search the University System of Maryland’s online library catalog and request materials to be delivered right to USMH—from any USM campus library.
Need access to research databases? Use any USMH Library computer to connect to the full range of digital resources offered by your home university.

WiFi Access
When connecting to the wireless network at USMH, select USMH-AcademicWifi. After selecting the connection your device should provide a pop-up where you can enter the corresponding WiFi password. To request the WiFi password, please contact our IT staff or inquire at the security desk.
Note: Establishing an IP address may take a few minutes when connecting for the first time.
Student Purchasing
Some universities have a student purchasing plan. Please check with the IT department at your home university to determine if you are eligible for discounts on hardware and software packages.

Writing Support
USMH provides support for students written assignments. This includes support for citations in APA, MLA, and Chicago style.
