Salisbury University Social Work Association is collecting birthday kits in honor of Jane Addams' birthday by donating "birthday cake kits" to It's A Blessing to Be a Blessing (a local non-profit) for distribution to those in need. Association members hope to collect 74 kits in honor of Jane's 74th birthday.

USMH will host an Open House on Tuesday, October 3 from 5 pm - 7 pm. University representatives will be on-site to answer questions and provide information about the programs offered in downtown Hagerstown.

The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH) has announced the scholarship awardees for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Scholarship opportunities available to students enrolled in partner universities are largely funded by the generous support of community members and local businesses.
New Advisory Board Members will lend their expertise to advance the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown’s vision to serve as a hub of innovation for educational transformation and a vital regional economy.
The annual scholarship fundraiser for USMH, the Elizabethtowne Feaste & Frolic Scholarship Dinner, will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023.
During the dinner, we thank partners, sponsors, and individual donors for supporting USMH throughout the year. All funds raised will help USMH students pay for their education through our various scholarship opportunities. In years past, we've provided as many as 25 scholarships in one year!

The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown's new executive director is still acclimating himself to the position. But he's already focused on where the university center is headed in the future.
"There's a lot of opportunity here," Jacob Ashby told Herald-Mail Media in an interview in mid-May.
