On Tuesday, May 23, the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH) hosted nearly 200 guests in an outdoor graduation celebration in University Plaza. Community leaders, faculty, and staff joined guests under tents to celebrate the 18th graduating class of the regional center’s partner universities.

Jacob Ashby has been named the next executive director of the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH). The appointment comes after an extensive search chaired by Frostburg State University (FSU) Vice President for Student Affairs, Artie Travis, and a search committee including local business and community leaders. He will serve as the third executive director for the regional higher education center and replaces Mark Halsey who retired in July.

The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH) raised more than $15,000 benefitting the USMH Scholarship Fund at its annual basket bingo fundraiser this past weekend. Since 2009, the fund has awarded scholarships to nearly 300 students attending partnering institutions within the USMH campus.

Faculty and staff from Frostburg State University’s Physician Assistant (M.M.S) program welcomed the 2023 cohort students to an open house held Tuesday, February 7 at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown’s Agnita M. Stine Schreiber Health Sciences Center.

The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH) partnered with Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) to hold a high school student art show reception on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at USMH’s Hospitality Center.
Both public and private high schools in the county were invited to participate in which nearly 120 pieces were submitted. Student pieces were judged in the following categories: 3-D (ceramic, sculptures, etc.), drawing, painting, digital photography, and digital media.
